If you're going to be carrying a stroller around for years, it needs to do more than just transport your child from one place to B. Strollers multiply just like rabbits, and having one that is able to manage all of your family's trips is an investment that is worth it.
Nuna MIXX Next is a multi-purpose stroller that does it all. It's easy to store, folds up compactly and is able to glide smoothly over sidewalks cobblestone, grass, and sidewalks. The light PIPA Urbn car seat is also available as a bundle for a complete travel solution. It's pricier than some of our other picks, but our product tester said it was worth the price as it's strong and able to be able to withstand the most challenging of excursions.
Three-wheelers are an excellent choice for a stroller that is light and can still handle some more rugged terrain. The Thule Shine is a good option, and we've named it the previous winner in this category. It's a bit more expensive than some of our other picks however, it's a solid choice and has plenty of features (car seat compatibility! Dual cup holders! This makes it a great purchase. It can also be folded to fit in the overhead bin of an airplane which makes it a great option for families who frequently travel.
Wendy Schmitz, Senior Review Editor at Baby Gear Reviews has been reviewing strollers for over two year. She and the rest of our team of product testers test each stroller by pushing, running forward, folding and lifting them to test their performance, comfort and usability. They're all moms as well, so they know how important a quality stroller is for daily life and for family outings. This year, we expanded our test pool to include five stroller and parenting experts: Lisa Trofe, executive director of the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association; Kyleyn Gosewisch, customer care specialist at strolleria, a retail store with a focus on strollers Marielle Marquez, pediatric occupational therapy therapist; Holly Choi, cofounder and co-owner of Safe Beginnings First Aid, an organization that provides children with safety resources as well as Sarah Huff, senior manager of customer and community at BabyQuip, an infant stroller and baby equipment rental business.
The BOB Sport Utility
The BOB Sport Utility is the ideal stroller for parents who want to step off the beaten path and get some exercise. This stroller for jogging has pneumatic knobby tires that are great for trail runs, and a hand brake that lets you control the downhills. It also features a state-of the-art suspension system and a two-step folding design and a massive cargo basket. It can also be used with a car seat for your infant when you purchase the appropriate adapters.
The main drawback of this jogging stroller is its weight and size folded. It weighs 25lbs and folds down to 17,850 cubic inches, which is the average for this category of strollers. Its size is not suitable for tight turns and small trunk space. It does however have an incredibly small handle at the back of the storage bin that can be pulled to collapse the stroller into a compact flat position.
Despite its size, this stroller remains easy to maneuver. The front wheel comes with a locking mechanism, which lets you switch between locked and normal mode. The handlebar can be adjusted to accommodate different heights of parents. It comes with a spacious seat that can be retracted to almost flat, as well as a large vinyl peekaboo window.
Another big plus is the Sport Utility's remarkable quality, which earned it a 9 of 10 in this measure. all-terrain buggy is built with a strong aluminum frame, with strong connections and has no rough edges or weak stitching. It also has adjustable dampers which help with the smoothness of the rolling.
The Sport Utility stroller, like the other BOBs in this review has optional car seat adapters. This lets you use it with a variety of infant car seats. In our tests, it took about 5:24 hours to put together the stroller from packing it up to being ready to run. It was easy enough to do, but you'll need a Philips head screwdriver to complete the task. The manual included is easy to follow and well-organized, however it's still an excellent idea to have one on hand just in case.
The Baby Trend Expedition
This jogger has been made with safety, style and ease of use as its primary goals. It has an adult tray with two cup holders as well as covered storage, and an infant tray that is able to swing away and includes two cup holders. The adjustable canopy, with its peek-aboo windows and a wide ergonomically-designed handle, offer comfort to both parents. The front wheel lockable can be removed when strolling and locked for jogging. The large storage basket is perfect to store the essential travel items.
Consumer Reports' Strollers test program confirms that the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger is an excellent value for the cost and is better than its competition across various categories. The 5-point harness folds, unfolds, adjusting backrest, engaging wheel brakes, and infant car seat installation and removal (only compatible models) are all included. It's a basic design, with a single-handed recline that's deep enough to allow napping. The canopy cover that has ratcheting can be difficult. It takes about 8 minutes to set it up. The instructions are confusing, with multiple languages mixed in with difficult-to-read drawings.
The only downside to this jogger is that it doesn't come with a suspension system, so the ride may be bumpier than some of the other all-terrain strollers we've tested. This might make it more uncomfortable for toddlers, especially when they're on verge of a nap. It does have tires that are filled with air but they don't have as much shock absorption as the rubber wheels you find on strollers that are more expensive.
This is a great option for people who don't plan to run a lot but would like to walk over grass and gravel easily and without issues with curbs or other obstacles. It's also a good option for families with a limited space as it folds down into a compact unit. It is lighter than most of the other strollers we've tested and fits into spaces that many full-size strollers can't.
It's also easier to lift and move than the bulkier joggers that we have tried. This is especially crucial if you need to lift it into and out of the trunk of your car regularly or if you're constantly on the go.
The Nipper Sport V4
If you're looking for the top jogger that can handle all terrains and conditions, take a look at the Nipper Sport V4. The latest version of Out 'n' Around's 3-wheeled jogging stroller was specifically designed for jogging, and has large 16'' pneumatic alloy tyres to tackle even the most difficult paths and tracks. The Nipper is compact and lightweight making it easy to carry and fold.
This pushchair comes with a variety of characteristics that make it perfect to tackle any type of terrain, including front suspension and a brake for the handlebar. It comes with a removable quilted liner and multi-position recline, along with a 5-point safety harness that is padded and hinged bar. It's also compatible with travel systems, allowing you to use it with a Cybex Maxi-Cosi or a Be-Safe infant car seat.
Another great feature of this buggy is the large front wheel, which helps ensure the smoothest ride for your child. This is particularly crucial when it comes to tackling terrain that is difficult, as it allows the buggy to better track and glide more easily over dips and bumps. Nipper Sport is easy to drive and comes with one pedal brake. The handlebar features an ergonomic design and a single-pedal lock brake that can be adjusted to suit your needs. The buggy is also very easy to fold and has clear step-by-step directions and photos in the user manual.

The Nipper Sport is suitable for children up to the age of six months, and can be used with a newborn due to its infant insert built-in. However, it is not recommended for use with infants younger than six months, as the seat's harness isn't strong enough to keep them.
Another problem with this pushchair is the lack of a storage basket under the seat. It does have a small grocery pouch on the back of the seat, but it wouldn't be big enough for a large changing bag. It is, however, very simple to unfold and close, with just two hands required to release the plastic catches on either side of the lower frame. There is a second lock catch on the handlebar in red, which can be released by one hand, which makes it extremely practical to use.
